This year's American Society of Landscape Architecture Annual Meeting and Expo is in Denver, Colorado, and both Chris Reed and Scott Bishop will be presenting their latest research and Stoss projects.
On the heels of the publishing of his book, Projective Ecologies, Chris, with co-editor Nina-Marie Lister, will present the latest research and insights Friday morning, followed by a look at the work Stoss continues to do in Detroit following the Detroit Future City Framework Plan.
Scott will be looking back at projects that have utilized innovative modelling and fabrication techniques, including the benches at Plaza at Harvard, custom pavers for The CityDeck, and our latest work at the University of Michigan, tracing the process from idea, to virtual model, to CNC modelling and analysis tools, to final production. Scott will also be joined by Julia Czerniak, Associate Dean of Architecture at the Syracuse University School of Architecture, and professional advisor for the Movement on Main competition, won by Stoss in 2013. Their presentation on healthy landscapes comes out of that competition, in which Stoss redesigned 6 blocks of West Side Syracuse, improving opportunities for healthy bodies and healthy landscapes.
