Inspiration Port Credit establishes a Comprehensive Strategic Master Plan for the Imperial Oil Limited's (IOL) former refinery site and provides
peer review of a concurrent Master Planning project underway for Canada Lands Company Limited's (CLC) Port Credit Harbour Marina (PCHM) site. Both sites lie along the shore of Lake Ontario.

Now vacant for more than 25 years, the IOL site formerly included a large oil refinery. The refinery closed in 1976 and was dismantled in the late 1980s. Imperial Oil is currently beginning a year-long Environmental Assessment process on the site that will quantify current contamination levels. Future redevelopment of the site must take into account environmental conditions, adjacent residential neighborhoods, limited opportunities for local road connections, and environmental hazard designations along Lake Ontario.

The project includes coordination with the City of Mississauga, Credit Valley Conservation Authority, Imperial Oil, Canada Lands Company, local resident associations, and a range of other stakeholders, forming a set of detailed and implementable strategies for interim uses, long-term design solutions, and future development strategies.
