Binney Street Park is one of three new City of Cambridge projects currently being studied by Stoss as part of a new open space initiative in eastern Cambridge. The design of each park will be guided by the Eastern Cambridge/Kendall Square Open Space (ECKOS) Study and Connect Kendall Square Open Space Competition, which resulted in a framework plan for the overall network of open spaces in eastern Cambridge.
The design makes important connections to the North-South Grand Junction Community Bike Path, unites pedestrian traffic between the One Kendall development and Kendall Square and features a new space for dogs and dog owners to play free with a fenced dog run and multi-use plaza.
The design of the park has already included a number of public meetings aimed at gathering input from the eastern Cambridge community.
